HIS 295-01 - Special Topic: Tudors and Stuarts, 1485-17074 credits (Fall) Tudor and Stuart monarchs were some of the most intriguing characters to walk on the world’s stage. Their reigns heralded a series of radical changes in British and Irish political, religious, economic, and cultural life that had significant consequences for the shape of the modern Anglophone world. Key themes include: Personalities and politics, monarchy and republicanism, sex and power, civil war, public sphere and news media, religious reformations, relationships between the three kingdoms.
