ANT 295-02 - Special Topic: African Archaeology4 credits (Spring) This course is an overview of the archaeological record of human occupation in Africa (~2.5 mya) and several key areas of western Asia. Our coverage of African archaeology will emphasize the following general aspects: 1) Basic information on African archaeology today- methods, goals, theoretical approaches 2) Current topics and long-standing research topics such as the transition to behaviorally modern humans and the movement of people across the continent of Africa.
Prerequisite: ANT 104 . Instructor: Hilton
