MAT 395-01 - Advanced Special Topic: Represenstation Theory

4 credits (Spring)
Representation Theory is a subject which seeks to represent algebraic objects as linear transformations, and so uses linear algebra ideas to study the related algebraic object. The course introduces students to this advanced field of mathematics.  Topics covered will include group representations, characters and class functions, group actions, and induced characters.

Prerequisite: MAT 321 .
