REL 295-04 - Special Topic: Trajectories of Buddhist Modernism4 credits (Fall) This course will provide a critical perspective on the process through which Buddhism has been constructed by various intellectual and political agents as it has developed in the modern era. Influences on this process have included global networks of trade and technological exchange, colonialism (and anti-colonialism), cosmopolitanism, nationalism, the rise of secularism, and globalization.
Prerequisite: REL 101 , REL 102 , REL 103 , REL 104 , REL 105 , or second-year standing. Instructor: Holmes-Tagchungdarpa
