SOC 295-02 - Special Topic: Inequality, Capital, and Class4 credits (Spring) In this class on “class,” we will engage with traditional and contemporary debates on the role access to economic resources plays in the organization of capitalist society and influencing life chances at the level of the individual. We will also interrogate the ways in which class intersects with other seemingly distinct, but related, variables and dynmaics, such as race, gender specificially. Finally, we will consider the mutability of class as a system that generates social and economic divisions.
