PHY 395-01 - Advanced Special Topic: Galactic Astrophysics and Cosmology4 credits (Spring) An introduction to the subject of galactic astrophysics and cosmology from a theoretical and observational perspective. Topics covered include the structure and dynamics of the Milky Way galaxy, galaxy evolution, and the early history and cosmological expansion of the universe. The course will also touch upon relevant areas of current research in astrophysics.
