MAT 314-01 - Topics in Applied Mathematics4 credits (Spring)
Wavelets: Theory and Applications. Wavelets are used heavily in signal processing algorithms. This class will focus on image storage, compression, and reconstruction using wavelets. Students will code algorithms to implement various types of wavelet transforms. A solid understanding of linear algebra is highly recommended for this course.
Prerequisite: MAT 215 .
