LIN 395-01 - Advanced Special Topic: Advanced Linguistic Analysis4 credits (Fall) This course will expand on the linguistic analysis skills developed in previous coursework, looking specifically at the sub-disciplines of phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics and the ways they interact. Each unit will focus on a specific sub-discipline and how it interfaces with another, e.g. morpho-phonology, morpho-syntax, and the syntax-semantics interface. Students will work with data from a variety of languages in order to examine the structural components of language and the various cross-linguistic realizations of these components.
Prerequisite: LIN 216 , or LIN 295 when offered as Phonetics and Phonology, or Typology or Indo-European. Instructor: Hansen
