FRN 395-01 - Advanced Special Topic: Text, Images, Voice, and Books

This short course seminar is being taught by Professor Montier from the University of Rennes. Professor Montier’s research examines the relationship between literature and photography. This seminar will explore the mutliple interactions between voice, text, and image from the Middle Ages to today. Topics may include: the notion of oral literature, the invention of art criticism, the rise of photography, and the contemporary photo-novel. One evening discussion session will accompany the course in order to view the images presented by the Professor.

Prerequisite: FRN 312  or FRN 313 .
