REL 295-01 - Special Topic: Religion, Philosophy, and the Good Life4 credits (Spring) What is the good life and how does one go about living the good life? This course will look at the founding texts and figures from six diverse traditions of imagining the good life: the Buddha, Muhammed, Jesus of Nazareth, Socrates, John Stuart Mill, and Friedrich Nietzsche. We will explore the particularities of these visions and we will consider how they help us think about and how they are different from our own views of the good life.
