THD 295-01 - Special Topic: Eco-Performance and Site-Specificity: Prairie Meanders at CERA

Prairie Meanders will create maze-like pathways modeled on major ecologicial aspects of the earth at CERA. Internationally-respected professors Baz Kershaw and Susan Haedicke of Warwick University, UK, will work with Grinnell students to create the first North American version, combining land art, nature trail, gallery display and immersive performance to produce a dynamic experience of ‘glocal’ ecosystem processes. Students will have options of taking the 295-short course or completing the Prairie Meanders as part of THD 211, this fall focused on eco-performances and urban site specificity.

Prerequisite: None.
Note: Dates: August 25 to September 17. Students will be expected to participate in the project at CERA
one weekend morning or afternoon on September 3rd or 4th, and also on September 10th or 11th. Short course deadlines apply.
