GRM 227-01 - Topics in German Literature in Translation: The Holocaust Remembered4 credits (Spring) Cross-listed as: GLS 227-01 . In this course, we will examine works of literature, testimony, film, and memorials to explore the ways in which the Holocaust is remembered, both individually and collectively. The course will ask both what has been remembered over time, and how different modes of remembrance may also enable certain kinds of forgetting. We will delve into some of controversies that have emerged concerning the proper ways to remember an event that same have deemed “beyond representation.” Taught in English.
