ENG 120-02 - Literary Analysis

This course is designed to give students enhanced analytical skills for reading, writing, and discussing literature. In this section, we will examine ultra-contemporary prose, poetry, and nonfiction (including visual and digital narratives such as comics, wikis, blogs/vlogs, slam poetry, and performance art) with a focus on the concept of the “self” and its complex intersecting identities. Course authors and artists of study include Chimamanda Adichie, Ta-Nehesi Coates, Beyoncé, Ocean Vuong, Warsan Shire, J Mase III, Sarah Kay, and Nabeela Vega.
