HUM 195-03 - Introductory Special Topic: Social Justice and Digital Humantieis

2 credits (Spring)
#BlackLivesMatter, #Occupy, #WeWillRise: our digital environment is a living archive for social justice movements. How can we engage these digital archives as scholars? How can we use digital tools to see archives of past social justice movements in new ways? Intended as an introduction to “digital humanities” (the intersection of humanities inquiry with digital technologies), this course surveys tools, techniques, and critical approaches. Students will interrogate Grinnell’s past and present as a site of social justice movements to craft an original digital narrative.

Prerequisite: None.
Note: Dates April 7 to May 12. Short course deadlines apply.
Instructor: Rodrigues, Schnepper
