REL 195-01 - Introductory Special Topic: Building a Nonviolent Movement1 credits (Spring) Join the MLK and Gandhi course - REL-295-05 - for two weeks to learn directly from indigenous activists from Standing Rock and Serbian “revolution consultants.” We will interact with and interview activists on campus and have sessions on how to analyze and plan social movements and direct nonviolent action. Though the short course will be very practical and “real world” in orientation, our theoretical frames will focus on ethnography, the relationship of scholarship and activism, and postcolonial, African American and indigenous studies.
Prerequisite: None. Note: Dates: February 22 to March 3. Short course deadlines apply. Instructor: Dobe, Popovic
