ARH 295-01 - Special Topic: Contemporary Architectures4 credits (Fall) This course explores issues in contemporary architecture, looking at architectural theory and production globally. Exploring examples of architecture from the 1960s to today, we discuss topics including postmodernism, deconstructivism, semiotics, gentrifications, suburbanization, and the global city. Students will analyze the built environment, visual representations of the built environment, and critical texts by prominent architects and architectural theorists.
