MAT 314-01 - Topics in Applied Mathematics: Partial Differential Equations4 credits (Spring) Partial Differential Equations. This is a first course in partial differential equations. The development of the theory and techniques will revolve around several classical equations: Laplace’s equation, the heat equation (heat flow and diffusion), and the wave equation. Techniques will include separation of variables, Fourier analysis, Sturm-Liouville problems, and existence/uniqueness results.
Prerequisite: MAT 220 . Instructor: Chamberland
