ANT 365 - Fighting Words: Conflict, Discourse, and Power4 credits (Fall or Spring) This course is a seminar in linguistic anthropology. It focuses on conflict and power embedded in social uses of language and analyzes them in a variety of contexts. It highlights both interactional and institutional aspects of discourse and the ways in which they are implicated in reproduction of social relationships.
Prerequisite: ANT 265 or ANT 280 . Note: Not offered every year. Instructor: French
