ENG 331-01 - Studies in American Prose II4 credits (Fall) Even the Words Have Wheels. Ableism persists despite the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act in 1990. It’s the difference that few talk about-indeed, that few think of as difference, even on the Left. This seminar will explore the life writing (poetry and memoir) of people with a broad range of disabilities. How does the physiologically distinctive body give rise to new kinds of politics and aesthetics?
