ANT 205 - Human Evolution4 credits (Fall or Spring) In this course, we examine material evidence from the fossil record to explore human evolutionary history from its origin. We will investigate the development of evolutionary theory as well as major events and topics in human evolution. Utilizing a comparative biological and evolutionary framework, we will also discuss how non-human primates can inform human history. This course will provide insight into the morphological and behavioral changes that took place during the course of human evolution and their importance for understanding human diversity, anatomy, health, and behavior.
Prerequisite: ANT 104 with grade S, C, or better. Note: Not offered every year. Instructor: Marshack, DeMars
