PSY 295-01 - Special Topic: Language Development4 credits (Spring) The purpose of this course is to explore the psychological processes involved in children’s language acquisition. We will read and discuss major findings in the development of sounds, words, grammar, and social use of language. The course will cover major research methods in the study of children’s language development; students may have the opportunity to visit the college preschool and collect language samples from children as examples of the topics we discuss in class.
