ECN 372 - Seminar in Economic Development4 credits Processes of growth and change in developing societies. Both theoretical and empirical modes of analysis introduced in the literature covered. Topics chosen from among population growth, agricultural development, industrialization, investment in human capital vs. physical capital, the balanced-unbalanced growth controversy, noneconomic factors in development and underdevelopment.
Prerequisite: ECN 282 . Effective Spring 2018 the prerequisite will be ECN 280 and concurrent registration in or completion of ECN 286 or MAT 336 . Note: Not offered every year. Instructor: McGavock
