PSY 295-02 - Special Topic: Cross-cultural Psychology4 credits (Fall) Psychological findings are often presented as if they are universal. In this course we will examine theories and processes in cognition, perception, language, development, and mental health from a cross-cultural perspective. There will be a focus on examining universality and difference across culture and on the interactions between psychology subfields (e.g., the influence of language on cognition). Students will read primary and secondary literature and be evaluated on discussion, written reflections, and exams.
