POL 295-01 - Special Topic: American Urban Politics4 credits (Spring) This course introduces students to the structure and operation of local government, the tensions that exist between the centralizing tendencies of federal power and the desire for local autonomy, and the unique set of policy concerns that drive the politics of local communities across the country. The overarching theme of this course is the intersection of local politics and economics reveals the origins of American inequality.
