PSY 295-01 - Special Topic: The Self4 credits (Spring) This course reviews classic theories and current issues regarding the psychology of self and identity, defining the uniquely human self and its functions. The structure, content, and consequences of the self are covered with an emphasis on writing, and discussion that deconstructs and analyzes the arguments underlying these concepts. Students will examine work from various subfields that inform the creation of the self, its biological underpinnings, and it social cognitive functions.
