CHI 295-01 - Special Topic: Global Sinophone Fiction and Film

4 credits (Spring)
Cross-listed as: GLS 295-02 . This course examines fiction and films in the Chinese language, focusing on those produced beyond China proper. Using Sinophone studies as the theoretical framework, the course pays special attention to multiculturalism, and global perspectives. Throughout this course, students will read Chinese-language texts in English translation of varied backgrounds and construct a critical understanding of the Chinese culture, its diverse variants, and its connections or competition with other cultures. Taught in English.

Prerequisite: None.
Note: Plus-2 option available.
