PSY 395-02 - Advanced Special Topic: The Evolutionary Continuity of Great Ape Personality Traits2 credits (Spring) We will first read from the psychological, biological, and anthropological literatures that examine personality trait structure in great apes (humans, bonobos, chimpanzees, gorillas, and orangutans). We will then turn our attention to personality processes, including the origins of traits in the different species and trait development with age. Emphases will be placed on the evolutionary, behavioral genetic, and experiential causes of the similarities and differences in trait structure and development between the great ape species. Prerequisite: PSY-113, BIO-150 or ANT-104 and two courses at the 200-level or above in any of the departments, PSY, BIO or ANT.
