SOC 295-01 - Special Topic: Sociology of Climate Change

4 credits (Spring)
Broadly considered one of the largest material and symbolic crises of our time, climate change has generated mass mobilizations, lifestyle movements, and counter mobilizations. This sociology special topics class takes a sociological look at how our social structures and eco-social norms contribute to and resist ecological disasters. Special attention is given to resilience, Indigenous approaches to climate change, petro-culture, climate justice, political polarization, and the social organization of climate change denial.

Prerequisite: SOC 111 .
