HIS 201 - Colonial Latin America4 credits (Spring) A general survey of Latin American history from the Columbian encounter through independence. The course will focus on the patterns of European conquest and colonization, the complexity of race relations in the region, and the problems of colonial administration.
Prerequisite: HIS 100 or second-year standing. Note: Not offered every year.
