SOC 300 - Practicum in Applied Sociology4 credits (Spring) Students work approximately 10 hours each week at community partner sites in Grinnell or surrounding areas (transportation arranged). Class discussions and assignments focus on practicum experiences from a sociological perspective. Interested students must request and submit an application for this course from the professor in November. Students needing assistance in securing a site a are encouraged to visit the Center for Careers, Life, and Service. Does not fulfill the 300-level requirements for the sociology major.
Prerequisite: Any two 200-level or above sociology courses with grades S, C, or better, and third-year or fourth-year student status with good academic standing. Instructor: Ferguson, Haenfler
