THD 350-01 - Critical Approaches to Theatre Methods

4 credits (Fall)
Cross-listed as: GLS 350-01 .  This course hones the craft of writing for the stage including character, action, dialogue, visual imagery, sonic storytelling, and adaptation from other media and genres. Through discussion, regular writing practices and workshop response, and reading and viewing plays, students will develop their own artistic voices and theatrical imaginations. In Fall 2023, students will also contribute to a Spring 2024 Mainstage Production inspired by local archives, from conducting oral history interviews to creating new pieces drawn from archival research. All writers welcome!: new, continuing, any genre, gamer-storytellers. performance writing is a capacious space.

Prerequisite: Any 200-level THD course with grade S, C, or better, except THD-200 or THD-201
