ART 295-01 - Special Topic: Abstract Painting4 credits (Spring) This studio art course is an introduction to the history and practice of abstract painting. Our practice will be concerned with generating content through non-representational strategies and forms (such as gestural abstraction, process painting, hardedge abstraction, and color field painting) while developing a material understanding that will enable ideation and construction of artwork using acrylic paint and acrylic paint mediums.
Prerequisite: ART 111 with grade of S, C, or better. Instructor: Kaufman
