FRN 395-01 - Advanced Special Topic: French Cinema and Literature in the 21st Century

Conducted in French. This course explores the different trends of French cinema and literature in the 21th Century. Examines topics such as the process of adaptation, aesthetics, autofiction, education, exclusion, memory, sexuality, and violence. Authors and directors to be studied include Audiard, Cantet, Despentes, Ernaux, Gavalda, Kechiche, Le Tellier, NDiaye, Sciamma, Siri, Varda.

Prerequisite: FRN 312 or FRN 313, with grade of S, C, or better..
