ANT 295-05 - Special Topic: Racism and Anti-Racism in Global Perspectives1 credits (Spring) In this four-week course, we explore racism and anti-racist movements in different historical and contemporary contexts. The course has a global scope, drawing on examples from Africa, Australia, Canada, Europe, and the United States. Throughout the course, we focus on resistance against racism and the courage of inspirational individuals and groups. We consider the role of collective memory and arts in inspiring the ongoing critique of racism.
Prerequisite: ANT 104 with grade S, C, or better; or Second-year standing Note: Dates: April 4 to April 25. Short course deadlines apply. Instructor: Cervinkova
