GRM 270 - The Holocaust Remembered4 credits (Fall or Spring) Cross-listed as: GLS 270 . This course examines works of literature, testimony, film, and memorials to explore how the Holocaust is remembered, both individually and collectively. The course will ask both what has been remembered over time, and how different modes of remembrance may also enable certain kinds of forgetting. We will delve into some of the controversies that have emerged concerning the proper ways to remember an event that some have deemed “beyond representation.” Taught in English.
