ANT 263 - Historical Archaeology4 credits (Fall or Spring) Historical archaeology is the archaeological study of societies from 1500 CE to present. Readings will trace the development of historical archaeology as a discipline and cover a range of important theoretical topics, including colonialism, gender and sexuality, and race and racism. Laboratory sessions will introduce course participants to core methodologies used in historical archaeology, which include analyses of the material and documentary record.
Prerequisite: ANT 104 with grade S, C, or better. Note: Not offered every year. Instructor: Ng
