ALS 111 - Brazilian Portuguese I

2 credits (Fall and Spring)

ALSO Brazilian Portuguese 1 is a self-instructed language learning program designed for complete beginners. Students follow a syllabus to independently learn the language and complete assignments. Students also attend communicative class sessions led by their native-speaking peer tutors. While the course covers all communication modes, students will focus on interpersonal oral communication. Students are expected to achieve oral proficiency of Novice High-Intermediate Low on ACTFL scale.

Prerequisite: Prior language learning experience and second-year standing.
