AMS 395-01 - Advanced Special Topic: World-Ending and World-Making: Researching to Decolonize and Heal

4 credits (Spring)
Inspired by feminist scholar Robyn Maynard’s question: “What does it mean to try to build worlds that affirm, rather than destroy, life?,” this course explores decolonial research practices fit to the piling-up crises of the twenty-first century. We engage deeply with works by Black and Indigenous scholars to think about dismantling colonial power and contributing to healing, unity, and liberation. Students will develop unique methods and research projects that redress colonial injustices and sustain life.

Prerequisite: One 200-level AMS course with grade, S, C, or better.
Instructor: Reznick
