ANT 295-02 - Special Topic: Making and Understanding Stone Tools2 credits (Fall) Stone tools first appear some 4 million years ago and remain important tools for much of the human story. Due to the excellent preservation of stone, they are common archaeological artifacts. This course will teach students the basics of stone tool production and analysis. Students will use their experiences learning to make stone tools themselves to explore ways to analyze archaeological stone tool remains.
Prerequisite: ANT 104 with grade S, C, or better, or second-year standing. Note: Dates: August 29 to October 17. Half-semester deadlines apply. Instructor: Kamp, Whittaker
