SOC 295-01 - Special Topic: Arts, Crafts, and Activism4 credits (Fall) This course uses the sociological imagination and developed theories to investigate constructions of “art” versus “craft” by engaging in hands-on making through an activist lens. We investigate the intersections of social class, gender, race, colonialism, critique “the museum,” and take inspiration from underground resistance movements.
Prerequisite: SOC 111 with grade S, C, or better. Instructor: Snook
