FMS 195-01 - Introductory Special Topcic: My Favorite Problematic Genre: Ethics in True Crime Media1 credits (Fall) The digital age has made it easier than ever for anyone to make true crime “content.” But what does it mean to use other people’s often-tragic stories for entertainment? This course will examine the most common criticisms of true crime. It deals with difficult topics including police violence, murder, and sexual assault; it is best suited for students comfortable addressing these issues in a group setting. Sponsored by the Wilson Center for Innovation and Leadership.
