ENV 295-01 - Special Topic: Air Pollution Formation and Impacts4 credits (Fall) Air pollution is often thought of as a single hazard, but there is great diversity in air pollutants. Some are emitted directly, while others are formed in the atmosphere. Pollutants exist as gases and tiny particulates that, when inhaled, can lead to heart and respiratory disease. This course covers the formation of major air pollutants and how they impact public health. Other topics include the Clean Air Act and stratospheric ozone depletion.
Prerequisite: Second-year standing. Instructor: Couza
