PHI 395-01 - Advanced Special Topic: Advanced Studies in Decolonial/Postcolonial Philosophies: Frantz Fanon4 credits (Fall) This course engages closely three works by thinker, psychiatrist, and activist Frantz Fanon (Black Skins, White Masks, A Dying Colonialism, and The Wretched of the Earth). The course will focus on developing skills for research in philosophy. To do so, it will include close reading of primary an secondary literature, student-written protocols and/or presentations for class sessions, and the development of a research paper.
Prerequisite: PHI 295 - Philosophy and Colonialism, PHI 261 , PHI 215 , PHI 235 , PHI 243 , PHI 264 , POL 264 , PHI 265 , or any 300-level Philosophy course; with grade S, C, or better. Note: Plus-2 Option Available. Instructor: Rios Acuna
