MAT 322-01 - Advanced Topics in Algebra

4 credits (Spring)

The Galois correspondence is studied using theories of groups, rings, fields and vector spaces. We then apply this machinery to study many problems, some of which date back to the ancient Greeks. The techniques used to solve these problems have largely defined the modern approach to Algebra.

Prerequisite: MAT 321 with grade S, C, or better.
