PHY 295-01 - Special Topic: Energy Physics and Renewable Technology4 credits (Spring) This course will explore the basic principles of the physics of energy from its uses to the consequences in the environment placed with historical and social context. We will discuss and understand the physical principles and thermodynamic laws that govern the sources, extraction, transmission, storage and end use of energy. Additionally, this course will cover the physics of renewable technology: solar photovoltaics, wind, hydropower, geothermal and energy storage methods.
Prerequisite: PHY 132 with grade S, C, or better. Instructor: Rudnicki
