EST 395-01 - Advanced Special Topic: Applying Critical Pedagogy to Our Education Research: EST Advanced Seminar

How can education research help hold our society accountable for culturally sustaining and anti-racist practices and promote solutions to educational challenges rather than simply reveal shortfalls? In this advanced seminar for Education Studies Concentrators, we identify the core principles of critical pedagogy and action research and apply them to our research agendas. Each student is supported through scaffolded assignments and collaborative learning to realize a substantive research project on a topic of interest to them.

Prerequisite: One 200-level Education course with grade S, C, or better, and second-year standing.
