ECN 395-03 - Advanced Special Topic: Causal Inference Econometrics

4 credits (Spring)
This course surveys modern methods of applied microeconomics research with an emphasis on linking econometric theory to cause-and-effect questions. The topics include the most widely used methods in empirical research: randomized controlled trials, panel data model, instrumental variable approach, difference-in-difference, regression discontinuity, event study, and bunching. Students will learn how these techniques are used in top journal publications. They will also work on several quantitative homework exercises in Stata and complete an in-class presentation. 

Prerequisite: ECN 280  and ECN 286  with grades S, C, or better.
