CHI 195-01 - Introductory Special Topic: To Tell a Good (Chinese) Story: Chinese Web Fiction

Cross-listed as: EAS 195-01. This course introduces examples and practices of Chinese web-based fiction, calling attention to its unique form and style as well as examining popular themes, literary devices, and (sub)genres. It will also explore the online and offline mechanisms that form the larger eco-system that makes it possible for Chinese web fiction to not only surpass printed materials in volume and social influence within China, but also to spread across national and linguistic borders.
