REL 295-02 - Special Topic: Women and Religion4 credits (Fall) The course will introduce women’s life and experience across a spectrum of religious communities. Special attention will be given to examining the roles of women described in traditional religious texts, the ordination of women, women’s rituals, and women’s self-perception of gender. Course readings will consist of academic research from fields such as religious studies, gender studies, and sociology.
Prerequisite: REL 101 , REL 102 , REL 103 , REL 104 , REL 105 , or second-year standing. Instructor: Y. Chen
