CHM 332 - Biophysical Chemistry4 credits (Spring) Exploration of advanced topics in biochemistry with an emphasis on physical methodologies (thermodynamics and kinetics) and techniques. Topics include ligand binding theory, protein folding, and structure determination, etc. Secondary emphasis involves topics in molecular neuroscience, such as second messenger systems and ion channels. Laboratory employs some of the techniques discussed and includes an independent project. Three classes, one laboratory each week. Completion of the introductory physics sequence and CHM 363 is recommended.
Prerequisite: BCM 262 with grade S, C, or better, and completion of or concurrent registration in PHY 131 . Note: Plus-2 option available. Not offered every year. Instructor: Levandoski
